Every week Skye has a spelling test. She has been getting 6 or 7 right out of 10. At the beginning of the year they said they would cut down the list of words for her to adapt her needs if needed. Do you think I should consider asking them to cut the word list down or do you think its ok getting a 60 or 70 percent every week?

That's a hard one. I think 60-70% is pretty good but how does Skye feel about it? Is she frustrated by it? or is she the kind of kid who needs the challenge? I would probably talk with her teacher and see what they think.

I think that's a decent number. I know we don't usually reduce the list unless the kids are failing. When you study with her, do they seem totally over her head?

If it bothers her to get 60-70% then I'd ask for the list reduced. If it bothers her to not "be like everyone else" then I definitely wouldn't ask.

I'd make talk to her teacher about it, but if she's not concerned and Skye isn't bothered about it, I'd just keep things as is.

I agree. I think it's up to how it makes Skye feel.
