Wink Speaking of diaper rash from teething especially

Just wanted to let you know a tip my Ped gave me at Braedon's appt yesterday. Brooke has a diaper rash again that is burning her bottom. He told me make sure it's not the yeast infection again (she doesn't have bad diapers it just seems to be acidic) and apply that cream but here's the kicker -

Mix plain Malox with diaper rash cream (any kind) and apply to her bottom. The Malox will stop the pain from the acid from burning. Teething causes their BM's to be acidic and will burn if they have sensitive skin.

Makes sense, Malox is an antiacid.

Great tip!

Are my kids the only ones who RARELY get diaper rash? They've both had the occasional bouts with yeast infections, but don't

Sophie is completely prone to diaper rashes. She has yet another one now, which apparently is bright red and burned, but not with sores and weepy like the truly horrendous ones. Our DCP has suggested that she gets them because of her chunky thighs. I have no idea why, but I'm sure the OJ that she loves doesn't help.

Thanks for the tip.
