Default Yucky diaper rash

Well it looks like Connor has a yucky and STUBBORN diaper rash. It doesn't quite look like a typical diaper rash (from prolonged wetness) - but it also doesn't quite look like yeast either. Instead, it almost resembled dermatitis on his bum since it's over a larger area. Has anyone else had this problem?

Not sure what it is, but I hope it goes away soon. You might give your Pediatrician a call.

Whenever Livvie gets a rash I use A&D and it does the trick.

If you can't make it into the Dr and the Rash isn't going away with a good thick zinc paste (like Desitin), then you can try to rub Monistat 7 cream on the rash. This is what my Dr had me put on my kids when they had 'yeast' rashes. She never gave me a perscription, just had me do the monistat 7 cream and it worked great. Once she told me that, I didn't have to go into the Dr for this problem (which seemed alot more common for Sarah than it ever was for Andrew)

Oh no! I hope you find out what's causing it. Sounds like it might be time to visit the ped. James got a terrible, prolonged diaper rash when he transitioned to whole milk and was on antibiotics. I tried using nystatin and desitin on him to no avail. The ped finally wrote me a prescription for a cream that the pharmacist mixes up, contains an antibacterial cream, nystatin and an anti-inflamatory cream. I had to apply it whenever he had a diaper change and cover that with original desitin (not the creamy stuff). In addition, I had to change his diapers as soon as he poops, and allow him to run around diaperless for a little while each day to allow his butt to "air out". It finally looks better, but took a couple of months, and poor James still has some old scars from his multiple diaper rashes.
