Default Bad diaper rash

Rosie has horrible diaper rash. I think it's related to teething. It seems like the only time she gets diaper rash is when she has teeth coming in.

I keep putting stuff on it but it isn't getting better. Has only been since yesterday so far. I gave her a bath tonight with some baking soda in it and she really liked that. She stayed in a long time - soaking that bum. Then I let her run around naked for about 20 minutes. She thought that was great fun.

If anyone has any suggestions let me know. Hopefully it will clear up soon. She is just miserable between a sore mouth and sore bottom.

Her poops have been real grainy and runny. I just hate having to clean her up with a wipe. She just screams.

As an infant my son had a HORRIBLE diaper rash from some IV antibiotics... his bum was on FIRE! Diaper rash is no fun for anyone involved!

I ended up skipping the baby wipes until the rash was gone... I used paper towels with warm water instead.

His Ped. also told me about Malox... NOT for him to INJEST... but to pour on his bum (after it'd been cleaned)!! Just like it kills the acid in a grown-ups tummy, it nutralizes the PH on their skin! Anyways... I did that and then caked on Desitin afterwards. I think it helped.

Baking soda baths and running around naked WILL help too... and they're so cute running around in the house... as long as they don't PEE!!!

Good luck.

Default rash

We've done the same thing. Actually a little hydro-cortisone helped alot too. Good Luck.

I would have never thought of Malox! Good idea! Luckily for us just plan old Balmex works for Dewey. Boudeaux's Butt Paste is really great for most babies I know and clears up the worst of them in a day! Unfortunately never worked for Dewey. You may want to try that. They sell it at most walmarts I'm sure. Otherwise, sounds like you're doing a good job! Oh, and instead of wipes, as gross as it may sound I'd get a little plastic basin, like the ones they send you home from the hospital in and bathe her hiney off instead of wiping, I know that has got to hurt like hell!!
