Default 3rd stage foods ?

Have you started your little one on 3rd stage foods yet? If so, when did you start? I was glancing at the back of a Gerber Oatmeal box yesterday morning and saw that "crawlers" are ready for the Gerber finger foods and 3rd stage foods. I still have a TON of second stage.

Julia is definitely a crawler.

Also Julia is eating the puffs and wagon wheels. Have you tried any of the other finger foods? Do you have any other recommendations?

I haven't gotten them yet. K tends to eat like she is starving, so I am not ready to put too many chunks in her mouth. The Stage 3 foods are chunky, like a can of thick spaghettios.

I say go for the stage 3 foods if you want Dee. Honestly I still give Cora stage 2 fruits for breakfast. I've noticed stores around me have a much bigger selection of stage 2 stuff. The fruits in stage 3 seem a bit thicker but I didn't notice any chunks. The meat/dinner combos in stage 3 definitly have chunks, but they aren't all that big. You could give them a try.

Thanks! I think as I run out of things I'll start getting stage 3 instead of 2 and start giving them a try. You're right Jen, I was looking at the grocery store this morning and there isn't nearly as much in stage 3 as there is in stage 2 so I'll probably give both.

i have to order stuff over the internet, though i am using more japanese prepared baby foods (mainly freeze dried stuff.) next time i think i'll order third stage stuff. if i had more energy i'd be making more, but...anyway, i give her banana chunks and pieces of avocado, but then, that's usually at night just before a bath!

biter biscuits are so messy so i'm waiting a bit longer for those, but i give her zweiback toast and baby senbei. pieces of toast do well, too, as long as the pieces are small enough. lots of stuff ends up in her hair, though.
