Question Very bossy

Cora is EXTREMELY bossy these days. She's always been bossy, but now she's ordering everyone around. It's driving me nuts! What's the best way to teach her to ASK someone to do something instead of always bossing them around?

I just started trying to give her alternative things to say when she's playing with Preston or her friends. For example, we had one of her friends here yesterday and Cora told her to put on some of her dress up stuff so she could be the princess. Then she told her to go downstairs. So I told Cora that she should say "Would you like to be a princess? You can put these clothes on if you want? Do you want to come play downstairs with me?"

That's the only thing I can think to do - I'm hoping it will help!!! Little miss bossy is getting a bit out of control.

Marek is bossy too, and he insists on things being done his way. I'm always telling him to stop bossing me around and reminding him that I determine what Lukas can and can't do (he's always trying to discipline Lukas for things I don't mind him doing).

I'm hoping the solution is time...

Sophia can be a bit bossy...Just like Rudy, I remind her to stop being bossy (and tell her that it is my job to tell Noah things when he shouldn't be doing it). My niece is extremely bossy...my sister is constantly reminding to her to stop. She's very much an alpha female

I don't know if there really is a solution other than reminding her.

Cora is VERY VERY bossy when it comes to Preston. The poor guy is constantly being told what to do. I probably tell Cora to stop bossing Preston around at least 100 times a day. I always say "you take care of your self and I take care of Preston". She tells him to sit at the table, eat more food, don't look out that window, etc. etc. She even discipline's him - when he starts throwing his food I tell him something like if you throw more food your all done. So Cora will tell Preston - don't throw your food or you are getting down from your seat! Then when he throws food she'll say "alright your all done now!!!" UGH!!!! I know she is mimicing me, but UGGGGHHH!!!

I think another part of our problem is she is a 1st child AND the oldest within her group of friends. All of the friends she plays with are all 2nd or 3rd children within their family so they are used to being bossed around by older siblings. So when she tells them what to do, they do it immediately. I'm kind of hoping when she goes to preschool next year she'll discover that friends don't like being bossed around.

My neice is also the oldest child (just got a baby sister at 3 1/2 years old), she's been in daycare/preschool for 3 years and hasn't changed. She usually argues with my two because they are not doing what she wants. My sister tends to remind her more of her bossiness when she's with N & S. Sometimes Olivia will walk away upset because they are not "listening" to her. It can be quite commical.
