Here goes..

We showed up at the hospital at 9:00 to get prepped for surgery..
We were a bit late going to the OR because another patient of my Dr.'s was in labor but she didn't end up delivering vaginally because her baby was 10 pounds 3 ounces..

On Sunday the Ped. checked her over before releasing her and said she had a touch of jaundice on her face only.. so to get her into the sunlight. So we went home by noon.

Shelby Chayse born 10:56am 3/15/08
6 pds 12 ounces 19 inches long
She was exactly 37 weeks! She is amazing and we are so in love. The birth was great and exactly what I wanted. I was able to get an epi which was a 1st for me. Got to the hospital at 1am on the 15th so it took a while but I enjoyed it regardless. I was 3cm when I arrived. The Dr checked me and I was 6 at about 9:30 or so and said I was stuck and to start pitossin. DH ran out to get something to eat and Dr went and checked on some other patients. All of a sudden about 20 min later I called the nurse and was feeling strong pressure. Nurse came in and I was complete! They called the Dr and he came in and was getting his scrubs on and DH walked in. Perfect timing! I pushed once and her head was out and one more for her body!! I am so glad she is here and cannot put her down!!

Wow that sounds like it went very smoothly for you. Was it your firtst baby? I had a very prolonged labor, but it was worth every second.

Here is a short version of the birth of Colton Donovan…
Well, my due date was April 10th and I went in for my checkup that day and the doctor said that I was 2cm. So he told me to go home and come back the next day. So I went back the next day and I had not changed. The doctor wanted to admit so that he could watch me. So I was admitted on the 11th. Every time the doctor came in checked me, I hadn’t changed. So the doctor broke my water on Saturday the 12th, because the doctor thought it would make the labor progress quicker and he also gave me some Pitocin to make the labor come on more quickly. Well it didn’t. The doctor checked me at midnight that day and I had only progresses to about 4cm and 80% effaced. The doctor told me and Jake that if I hadn’t progressed more by lunch that they would be doing a C-section. So when the doctor came in at lunch time, I had only progressed to about 5cm 85% effaced. So they decided on the C-section and I went in at 12:45 and my sixth and final boy was born at 1:07.
Mr. Colton Donovan weighed 8 pounds, 11 ounces and was 21inches long.
