With my first loss, I had a D&C so the bleeding was immediate and heavy for about a week. The period came about a month after that... We had to wait 3 months that time since I was almost 12 weeks when we found out about the trouble.

The last time was just this August/September. It was a bizarre ectopic and I had two methotrexate injections to "chemically dissovlve" the pregnancy tissue that was on my ovary.... UGH! The bleeding came just before the second injection and lasted almost two full weeks. It was the heaviest bleeding I have ever had -- very scary. Since Methotrexate is a chemotherapy drug, I have to wait until December again to enusre I have healthy eggs.

Good Luck! Come and visit/lean on/complain to/ask questions of/ us anytime!

My firstwas a "spontaneous abortion" at slightly over five weeks pregnancy. I bled like a normal period with slightly more cramping and a lot more clotty type blood and gunk. I conceived 13 days after the start of the miscarriage and carried to term.
