Default I have a question

Hello ladies. I am not new to the boards, but have not been here in a while. Well, I just had a second trimester miscarriage. I was about 20 weeks and the baby was measuring about 16w. I found out last thursday, I thought that this was happening, because I had started spotting and all my symptoms had gone. I am usually sick till about the 6th month. So I knew that something wasn't right. When I went to the doc and they did the US and found no hb, it really hit me hard. I kept it together at the office, but really lost it when I got home. This is the second time this has happened to me. My doctor told me that I would have to have a D&E because the baby was so far along and she doesn't do them so she reffered me to someone else. Well, I went in that friday and had the little sticks in to open my cervix and then had to go back on sat. morning for the actual procedure. Well, all went well during the procedure, but when I got home I started bleeding very heavy. I had to be taken and admitted to the hospital given all kinds of medication, shots, iv's, it was awful, and very scary. My blood wasn't clotting and it was supposedly because of the fetal demise and that it had been gone for a few weeks it gives off some kind of toxin that keeps the blood from clotting. I finally got out of the hospital on Monday and everything has been going well. The doctor said that I will probably be tired for a while and he had blood drawn to check for anemia and somethign else. He wants to make sure that all my levels are good.
I wanted this baby so much. I just don't feel like I am done yet. My husband is content with the 4 that we have, but I am still longing for another. I guess what I am trying to ask is if anyone has had any experience like this before and been able to have another baby? I am not planning on trying anytime soon, this was very scary, but would like to try in the future.
Well, thanks for letting me tell my story.

Teresa

Hi Theresa,
I have not had a loss like yours so late into the pregnancy. Mine was at 12 weeks.... But, I do some some women around here have and it is just heartbreaking....

I do know some women who have also gone on to healthy babies.

Right now I hope you heal and your heart finds peace.

BTW -- I know what you mean about not being done yet!! I hope you get another chance to fulfill your family.

My 4 losses have all been earlier than your loss, but I can definitely understand the feeling of not being done yet.

I hope that your dream to grow your family comes true soon.

For now, rest and heal, both physically and emotionally.
