I guess maybe I should have written, "I wish I didn't know what gender the baby was." I didn't ask--- the report said.

You most certainly didn't make a mistake.
 
These are HUGE questions for young (and even the wisest) brains. Sometimes it's best to answer with our brains and let our hearts catch up in time.

I can sympathize--I've had many conversations with my girls about our angels.

You handled it perfectly and as he grows, his understanding will grow, too. Keeping the communication open is the best thing you can do. He feels comfortable to ask you...and that's NEVER a mistake.
