  • If my two "good" follicles are mature on Monday, we're going to trigger on Monday. My doctor wants to know if we'd rather do a 24-hour insem or a 36-hour insem.

If we do a 24-hour, I'll trigger Monday morning for a Tuesday morning insemination. If we do the 36-hour, we'll trigger on Monday night for a Wednesday morning insemination.

Which do you think is better? 24-hour? 36-hour?
    I'm so confused!!

    TIA for any help!

  • Thanks, Tammy. I didn't know we'd be given the option until that moment.
So we'll talk about it but we're leaning a bit toward the 36-hour one for some reason. According to everything I can find, ovulation occurs around 40 hours after the trigger. For those with male infertility issues, a slighty higher conception rate has been noticed with the 36-hour insem.

But I don't know. We haven't settled on that for certain.
