  • Does the aspiration hurt? I read there is an 80% chance of recurrence.

    Well I had the original cyst aspirated, and yes it did indeed grow back or rather fill up again. The procedure is very similar to egg collection for IVF - they use a TVS (Trans Vagainal Scan), with a fine needle attached to it and basically pierce through the vaginal wall (this is painful, but only momenrterily), and into the cyst - this is all closely monitored with the scan equipment, to make sure they don't pierce something they shouldn't!!
