  • I've seen in some books and even the feeding pamphlet Nate's new pediatrician gave us that now is a good time for him to be trying things like cottage cheese and yogurt. But how can we give him that if he can't have milk until he's 1?

    We have a fromais frais here in the Uk that says it's suitable from just 4mos on the label and the Dr said I should give K when she was 6mos. I should have asked him this, but didn't think until I was back home

  • I think the not having milk til 1 is that you do not replace milk with formula (not that they can't have it at all)

    That's what I think, too.

  • From what I've read, the reason is that, cottage cheese and yogurt have a bacteria added to it, which makes it more tolerable for babies. Milk is an irritant for their stomachs, and introducing it too early, could make them allergic/intolerant to milk.
