well, i thought getting a job around my new town would be easier than finding one around where i used to live, but it is not the case! after looking and applying and only getting one interview in the last 6 weeks that i have been in the new shelter, i have decided to give up and try something new. i thought that finding a job might be a nice way to pass the time while i wait for my subsidized place, but i guess it won't happen like that afterall. i decided that, once i get out of here (which SHOULD be in the next few weeks), i will get us settled, and then see about starting child care in my home. emily is going to be in public school till we move but we already talked about homeschooling when we get our own place and i could do that, too. i will also be able to continue with my doula courses with birth arts, and at some point i want to find out if i am able to transfer my ECE credits that i have to a local college and if i am able to take time off from child care and find somewhere for my kids to go for a few months while i complete it, i will do that, too. i don't have to have my ECE to do the child care in my home, but i want my 2 years that i took to complete all of my courses for the program to count for something! i would not be interested in working in child care unless it's at home with MY OWN kids as well anymore, i don't think, but i would love to be a doula once i complete my courses. all of this sounds well and i am very motivated to do it now. i just hope it isn't a long, hard road to complete it all.
