Default How clean is your house?

On any given day of the week, if you had unexpected company just pop over, would your house be presentable?

On most days....my answer would be NO!

Our house is generally clean....but we get attacked by the clutter bug throughout the week, not to mention the scattering of toys everywhere. Just wondering if I am the only one....

i am a total neat freak so with the exception of a few toys around the family room while the kids are playing my house is spotless..i am always ready for someone to come over

I don't clean the playroom everyday but no one ever goes in there except us..so it doesn't bother me as much

Right now, someone would come over and it would be fine, but on most days, it looks like a toy factory exploded in here...

I am slowly trying to declutter and make it easier to keep things clean!

I try to keep my kitchen and living room cleaned up, but don't go into my bedrooms!! I do a good, thorough hands and knees cleaning once a week - other than that, my room seems to be the clutter zone... the kids never go into their rooms so they stay pretty clean.

my house is pretty cluttered most of the time but I don't care too much.

I have serious issues with houses being too clean. I mean. My issue is as a child always being told "don't touch that, don't put your feet here... you can't go in there..." and generally having to tip toe thru places (not in my house but other places) and I always felt - and still feel - like a child is squelched from being a fully imaginative and happy child when they have to be so worried about getting things dirty.
and I LOATHE the rule "you can't play with a second toy until you put away the first". BAD BAD BAD rule! Total cap on imagination!!

I'm not saying my house is a disaster. I do have the kids clean up and they do know why and how to clean. But I'd rather them be free to play fully than to worry about keeping things clean all the time.
And when my kids recall their childhood and how I conducted myself at home, they will NOT remember that all I ever did was clean instead of imagining and creating with them.

Anyway - that's just my soapbox
