Well...I may have to call out of work tomorrow.

My son's grandma (our babysitter) just had to go to the ER...............sooooooooooooo.........even if they don't keep her...she'll be on meds that make her sleep for a day or two.

I could probably go in for the last 3.5 hours...but is it really worth that?

I don't know! Should I call out for the whole shift? Should I try to chance that if she does come home...to leave the baby with her? I don't feel all the comfy considering she'll be drowsy or unable to stay awake.

But if they keep her...there's no one to watch him at all. Ugh!

Why am I fretting over a PART TME job??? Jeez. I just hate making a bad impression especially since childcare isn't an issue, and I assured them of that! But what can you do? G'ma can't help that she's sick (chest pain/sob could be serious since she's already had a blood clot in her lungs this year).

I would call and tell them that I'm not going to be there. Matthias's grandmother probably needs her rest if they put her on meds to make her drowsy, and if she's anything like my mom or my MIL, she would be trying to stay awake to watch Matthias. I don't think it will make a bad impression. I'm sure they'll understand.

I agree.. Call and explain the situation. If you are able to go in for a couple hours (meaning you have someone else to watch Matthias besides G-mother) then offer to do that so they know you're not just blowing off work. But in all likelihood they'll tell you not to come in.
