Parents are now encouraged to keep kids rear facing as long as possible -- to the age of 2!!

This has been the unofficial rec for yrs. It's 5 times safer to keep them rear facing. We had to turn Everett last month because he was too heavy in his Boulevard. It only has a 35 lb rear facing limit. He was happy to still be rear facing too. He would still be rear facing if he wasn't the size if a 4 yr old

I'm so glad they finally came out with these guidelines! It has been known to be much safer for years but the government takes forever to come out with new stuff.
