Question Concerned

A few days ago while washing Nicoles hair I felt something on the back on her head. It was a tick! A tick in November! Apparently, it mustve been there for at least a week. I felt horrible. Nicole was complaining days prior that I got her w/ my nail and it hurt...who wouldve thought to check..esp for a tick in November! DH got it and mentioned it was dead. Of course, he gets me panicky mentioning that it looked like a deer tick and to keep on eye on where the tick was. She looks fine but last night getting her flu shot, she couldnt b/c she had a fever...I believe she mentioned it was 101.5. I did give her Tylenol last night and she did have a fever this morning again. I completely forgot about the tick and if I did I prob wouldve stuck around at the ped for her to see a dr. DH mentions u get a fever from lyme disease and now has me worried.

I hope she feels better soon. Be sure to check for a target/bulls-eye shaped rash around the place where you took the tick from. That is a symptom of lyme's disease. I would definitely call the ped and tell them about the tick and the fever, maybe tere is something they can do for her in case it is lyme's.
Good luck!

I forgot to mentioned that the last few days it seems like she has a slight cold, so maybe thats where the fever came from. We checked the other day and there was no sign of a bullseye.

Well..since Im still struggling w/ extreme pink eyes its not easy for me to get to the Ped, I cannot believe that slipped my mind! If I wldve remember the tick, I def wouldve stayed for her to get checked out.

It happens to me all the time. I feel like I forget something every time I am there! Then I get home and want to kick myself!

Is there any chance you can find the tick? You can get it tested for Lyme.

Lyme can be VERY serious and many people do not get the bullseye rash.
