Default Pinata/party plans

Nicole's 5th birthday is 2 months away, but my wheels are starting to spin. Nicole already said she would like a hello kitty cake w/ chocalate frosting and a pinata. Holy smokes, seems like the average price is $20 for something youre just smashing to shreds! That doesnt even include the candy! I did see them at one of those "dollar" stores for $10. I can deal w/ that! Since im still out of work, we're just gonna have it at the house. I just hope the weather will cooperate then we can do the pinata and the kids can swim in the pool.

Parties at home are always fun...it's just the clean up that's a pain, lol!

Kendall's 4th birthday is also 2 months away and I think we are doing a "princess" party. I found all this princess-related stuff, inlcuding invitaions, on clearance a few months ago at Target and snatched it up. But since there will be boys there too, I am trying to come up with ideas to incorporate "knights" or "princes". I found lots of cute ideas online, but it's just finding the time to do all that now....I don't seem to have much extra time nowadays. I was also thinking about doing a pinata, but was looking into making my own. (like you said, the dragon pinata at Party City is $19.99 and does not include candy) We'll see...gotta find the time to do that too, lol!

Not too mention Garrett's 1st birthday is BEFORE Kendall's, so I have 2 parties to plan, pay for, and prepare. Oi vey!

Here are a couple of Hello Kitty inspired party ideas:

Try looking on Esty.com or Pinterest for great ideas, too. You could make mini pinatas for each child using toilet paper rolls, too. Those are so cute, fun to make, and make a big impact on the "look" of a party when guests arrive. Kids love 'em! Here's an example: http://www.etsy.com/listing/79860867...earch_type=all

Here are pics from Sarah's Hello Kitty party a few years ago. When the kids arrived, we painted noses and whiskers on the kids, each one made a headband with felt ears, we played "Pin the Bow on Hello Kitty" (I drew it on a posterboard and cut out the bows from pink cardstock) and had a Kitty cake (about $15 from Sam's Club). It was a fun party and the kids had a great time. http://www.mymurphyfamily.com/showPi...9&onePage=true

We have almost all of our parties at home.

What a cute idea! Howd the boys reacte being Hello Kitty? Did each child have their own paint and brush? I dont have face paint so where do you suggest I buy it? Did you just buy dollar store headbands? Whered you get the ears from or were they cut out? Thats a good Hello Kitty to pin the bow on. Whats cardstock? $15 cake?! Wow, thats cheap! I will have to see how much BJs cost, since im a member there. Sorry for all the questions, but I want to do that! Doesnt seem to cost a lot.... Thanks for the suggestions!
