Default Planting the seeds...

Our first attempt at pt failed miserably. Erin peed on the potty a bunch of times-even decided to go on her own a bunch of times but then completely rebelled against it. Dh and I decided to put it off a few weeks and then try again.
I made a huge progress chart with increasing numbers of spaces between prizes-at first there is a prize every time, then every other for a few times, every third, etc. Hopefully this method will work. I already found a ton of stuff in the house to put in the prize bin. I have a new tutu & a bunch of new flash card boxes from the dollar spot at target, mini play dohs that were in her christmas stocking, a few small foam craft sets, stickers, tatoos, nail polish to do her toes, and I am going to go buy a bag of lollipops to put in it too.
We have been talking about going on the potty and lately she seems to recoil less when we talk about it. Tonight I told her that when she goes on the potty she may get a special surprise and asked her if she wanted to try tomorrow. Instead of her usual scream and no, she said yes, so I am going to see if she asks about it tomorrow.
Maybe she will go to college without diapers after all!

Good luck!

I think p/t is different with each kid, and it's all about everything lining up just right and coming together.

Of course I have boys. My mother love to tell the story of how she tried to p/t me closer to 2, and I understood but just refused, so she put me back in diapers and that was the end of it. Then, randomly around age 2 1/2 one day I said, "mommy, I'm done with these diapers. I want big girl panties like yours." So she ran to Hills (I'm old) and got them. I put them on, and that was that.

With Lincoln he was just not getting it at fist and I kept trying and trying and he would pee in his undies and not even notice and I would give up and try again in a month or so and then the last time we tried he just kept going in his undies so I took them off him and had him be nude from the waist down and we put the potty in the living room and stayed home for several day and did the "3 day method" and the first time he seen himself go in the potty he finally got it and for the first few weeks every time I put a pull up on him he peed in it so he went naked anytime we were at home and after a few weeks he was able to wear pants and has not had any accidents since.
