I'm trying to do lots of educational type of things with Cora this summer. We're working on some site words because I want her to be able to read before she goes to kindy. I also just found a great blog with all sorts of fun activities and games to play with numbers, shapes, and letters. So hopefully I can get all of that stuff ready to go this week so we can start using it next week.

We also use our little pools in the backyard a lot. Although I always end up in the pool too because it is too hot! I want to start going to the library story time again, but Preston is a bit too noisy/wiggly so we may not go there.

Well, right now we are not going anywhere fun until Marek gets with the potty training program. That said, if/when he finally decides to be consistent, we go to the splash park, swimming at the gym, to the Children's Museum, to the zoo, and to Airtastic (inflatable playland). And of course, we play in the backyard and at the park. I recently got a sand box and a little inflatable pool with a slide and sprayers, and sometime this summer I want to do a water party with tons of water balloons and super soakers.

I haven't pasted up words on things (I should), but Marek is very curious about words and labels on things. He keeps talking about things and what letters they start with, and he can tell which is the boys' bathroom just because of the "B". He will start two-day preschool for 2-1/2 hours a day in September. Let's hope he's potty trained well enough by then!

BAsically the same old schedule here, although Aislinn is only going to school 2 days a week through the middle of August, because I'm off on Fridays. We try to do fun things on that day, which means sometimes just staying HOME.

We have been keeping VERY busy this summer. We have a seasonal campsite at a Jellystone (think Yogi, Cindy and Boo Boo) out by Chicago. We spend almost every weekend up there. There are always preschool activities, crafts along games along with hayrides with the bears, breakfast/lunch with the bears, bear tuck-ins at your site at night, themed weekends (we're gearing up for Christmas in July), outdoor movies at dusk, bands/DJ's, dances with the bears, 3 separate swimming pools, you name it. It is a BLAST! She loves it there, so do we. The rare weekend that we're home we try to hang with our friends who have kids her age who are her best friends. I try to keep her busy with ballet/tap on Tuesday evenings, $1 movies that our theaters are running on weekday mornings (last week we saw Kung Fu Panda...SUPER CUTE! This week we're going to see the SpongeBob movie), swimming at our local pool, going to the park, trips to the ice cream place, etc. We have a season pass to our local zoo, too. Julia loves going. We do what we can to keep busy with activities that don't cost a fortune so the boredom doesn't set in.
