Tough morning... Ages & Stages

Renee & James took Savannah into see the orthopedic surgeon for her hip this morning. Bad news is she has to wear a brace for at least the next 8wks. After that they will do xrays and hopefully she will be fine. This week she has to wear the brace 24/7 and hopefully when she is rechecked next wk they will allow her an hr a day without it so Renee can bathe her properly. Poor Renee was a basket case by the time she got home. She just cried and cried. She said you could hear Savannah's poor hip popping and grinding as they tried to set it in the socket then put on the brace. She said it just broke her heart to hear her poor baby screaming the whole time. The Dr reassured her that it really wasn't painful just uncomfortable and it's going to take Savannah some time to get used to the feel of the brace. My poor girl though. I just felt so bad for her. She just cried so hard. She finally managed to get Savannah settled and she's gone to lie down so hopefully she will feel better when she wakes up.

oh that must have been horrible for renee , I hope all is ok after the brace is off

oh no

thats so sad !! It will all be OK in the end and the 8wks will go by fast. Better to deal w/ the brace now than when she is older.

I had to wear a brace for over a year because of my feet when I was a new baby. I've never had a problem with it and am perfectly normal (well my feet are anyway

) now. So the good news to all this is if it had to happen at least it's now and she'll be corrected and go on to have hopefully no promlems. It's just hard on a mamma's heart to see our babies hurting. Give her all our love!!
