Matthew has such a very hard time with volume control. He can't stop himself from being loud, whether it's because he's happy, sad, mad, tired, anything. It tries my patience sooooooo much, especially because Brady still naps. He is so loud that he wakes him up a lot during nap. Then, during the early morning hours, he wakes up the entire family. We have worked hard with him on this, but he still is doing miserably at it. This morning, it turned pretty ugly when he refused to stop crying and screaming and Josh (who is SO sick), Brady, and DH were still trying to sleep.

It drives me insane because he is SO loud, but at the same time, part of it is just his personality. He's an intense kid, with the highest of highs, and lowest of lows. I don't want to break his spirit. I like to think it's possible for us all to exist in the same house, but it's proving to be difficult!

i have one like that...wait, i have TWO like that. one of which is TWELVE (the other is four). Yeah, i wish i could say they learn, but Trevor hasn't (it's probably an aspie thing for him though).

Same here. Erin is loud when she is very happy and even louder when she is very sad. We have to keep all the doors open in the winter for the heat to regulate properly, so she is constantly waking up Michael!

Nick (5) is the same way!! Sometimes I feel like wearing ear plugs around him. Boy, he is so full of....life! LOL
