Well, Kaitlyn will be 6 in about 6 weeks and Ive been thinking about what to do. Last year, we did something big b/c she turned 5. All the other times, was just family at the house. Since Kaitlyn is older and in school now, I would like it to be more kid friendly. It wouldnt be anything spectatacular...just at the house. It works out great that her bday falls on a saturday this year. Do you normally invite everyone in your child's class? Luckily, being in the house, the rsvp date doesnt have to be that far in advance. Its just hard w/ her bday the beginning of October b/c it doesnt give her a chance to really get to know her new classmates yet. WWYD?

I have never invited classmates because Peyton is a summer bday and Parker is just now in PreK. I have no advice for you on that lol. Keep us posted on her bday tho!

We are in the same boat, but even worse IMO. Ryan's birthday is Sept. 3rd and school starts August 23rd. So we are postponing his party a few weeks to get to know his new 1st grade classmates and then take it from there. He does have friends from last year at school and camp that we are still in touch with so we will invite them and then see who else he clicks with. He wants a party at Chuck E Cheese this year. lol

So sorry guess not much help there.

Check with the school first too. I have a rule that if you're going to do invites at school you have to invited everyone of that sex to your party (so she'd have to invite all the girls) --- many other schools have similiar rules too. So it might take you a bit longer to get contact info for the kids too.

What about a Fall themed party? There's tons of cheapand really fun stuff you could do with that!

I love the fall themed party idea... you could get little pumpkins and let the kids all pick one out and take it home!
