We never have any say so or even know what they will look like until we get them. The owner doesn't want parents putting their 2 cents in and then a big ruckus starting over this parent likes this versus this one likes that.

So it's a huge surprise other than the duo which she actually let me and the other Mom pick.

Brooke's duo costume is very pretty, White with silver sequins over the shoulder and around the chest. It's a lyircal number and it's very pretty and soft looking.

Now the other 4 are something that many many parents are upset over. I'm not upset mainly because I know the teachers style (she is young only 25) and I know what she is likely to choose. In fact Randy and I discussed it this year and I told him if he had a problem with 2 piece costumes or skimpy stuff he needed to say so upfront because we needed to talk to the dance instructor / owner or just stop dance. He was fine with it, he's opinion is if you have a body show it off on stage however it's not something you wear in public. Reality of it all is that the costumes will look great on stage but a lot of parents do not want their kid in 2 piece costumes. I really don't know why they are shocked though.

1st costume is a pair of black and bright blue booty shorts with a bright blue bra top, black tutu over the shorts. Thsi is the entire production team all 20 kids ages 5 - 15. Different age groups have different styles / colors of the same type outfit.

2nd costume is a black sequin bra top (although larger than the other one , just different design), black booty shorts with a tutu on the butt, black mask over the eyes - this is a small group dance with all kids ages 6 to 8 (6 kids total) for a *Robber* dance.

3rd costume is for Hip hop and will be the entire team. It's a white tank top oversized , black bra top under it, black sweat type pants and silver sequin hightops with yellow lace finger gloves and a skull cap.

I bet they will be adorable but I really don't understand why childrens dance has to have costumes like that. Its no different than the over-the-top baby beauty pagents and most ppl I know hate that sort of thing.

Not to mention the PRICE for all those outfits you'll never use again...

I danced for 16 years and never once had a skimpy costume... I don't think it's necessary at all...

I hope she likes them...
