No we can't leave because the Production is the entire group and that will be the last awards they give out.

It is exhausting but Brooke handles it very well. Some kids do not though.

Can I ask you a random question about your dance school?

When you first started -

Was the financial commitment laid out for you?
Were there ever additional "necessities" sprung on you?
Was the class and rehearsal commitment lasid out for you?
Were there ever additioanl rehearsals, shows or events made mandatory last minute?
Has your troupe ever participated in a fundraising event?
Were you required to purchase or donate anything for such an event?

Thanks,
Amanda

When you first started -

Was the financial commitment laid out for you? In General it was but I was not given actual fees it was more a random it will probably be $250 for this and that type thing. It was WAY more than that!
Were there ever additional "necessities" sprung on you? Oh yes all the time. Random things for the makeup and costumes
Was the class and rehearsal commitment lasid out for you? yes we have a set schedule of every Tue and Thur - only the company dancers dance those nights.
Were there ever additioanl rehearsals, shows or events made mandatory last minute? our instructor / owner is very scatter brained but from what I understand they all are that way - everyone says it's because of them being creative people. We know up front that there will be extra rehearsals and stuff as the competition season approaches but she never lets us know more than a few days ahead of schedule.
Has your troupe ever participated in a fundraising event? Yes we did it last year and it was awful and everyone complained so no one did it this year and we've seen how much MORE our costs are this year.
Were you required to purchase or donate anything for such an event? yep we had to sell at least $50 in GC for spaghetti dinners (and donate the food and cook it), sell 10 GC's to a Boston Butt fundraiser , baked goods outside the local store, yard sale where we had to donate items and work it for several hours. Sell $100 in advertising for the end of year recital book.

Thank you

I hate disorganization. I need structure. With three kids, many extracurriculars, and a business to run, I need things set. I can't work on the fly very easily and I feel like we are always just waiting for the next change of plans. Drives me nuts, but I put up with it because Adrianna loves dance and she is committed. I may be looking for a new school next year and I just wanted to know if I was expecting too much. I guess I am if you are having the same experience.
