  • My DH's parents are divorced. They have not set eyes on each other since the divorce six years ago, even though both are remarried. Lots of bitterness from MIL to FIL.

My DH has now accidentally invited both his father and his mother to come to Heather's birthday party. And they are both coming! Neither knows the other will be there. Oh, what sparks will fly! I just love looking like white trash at Chuck E Cheese.

  • Good luck is right. It's not your deal though - they have to learn to grow up and be adults. They do in fact share children and grandchildren, so they better get used to it - they're going to be together for graduations and weddings for years to come!

  • good luck-- my DH's parents were super bitter too-- and we always fretted over that too-- then about 3 years ago we just said screw it-- we called each of them and said when we have parties for our children always know we are imviting both of you- and if you decide not to go, then it's your loss..... they both always came-- and we got ourselves out of the middle.... sadly, dh's father passed away last year....
