Default How about a school update?

Leanna (5th grade) is doing great. I like her teacher and so does she. Rachel told her that next year she needs to get the 6th gr teachers she had because they are nice and its an "easy A" . Leanna said she doesn't want an easy A and wants to test to be in the gate classes instead.

Rachel is doing well in 7th. She's my problem child when it comes to school because she doesn't want to do anything difficult or time consuming but this year is going ok so far. Last year they didn't have spelling tests but they have them in 7th and my threats to turn off the phone & internet if she gets less than a B on weekly spelling tests are working. (I turned off texting for a week so she knows I'm serious about it.) They discected a cow eyeball (ewww!) yesterday. She was really looking forward to it but she said it wasn't as interesting as she expected. Next will be a pig heart so I hope that is more interesting when it happens.

I've been volunteering for Rachel's science teacher and math teachers but Rachel is not always in the science class. The schedules rotate and I'm in Sci 1st class on Fridays but I don't mind if she is not there and she sometimes gets obnoxious and louder if I'm there anyway. I like being able to see how the teachers teach and I like listening in math classes just so I can remember how to do it all again. LOL I hated it when I had to take it but now its like puzzles and its fun! (My kids say I'm wierd when I say math is fun. )

Sounds awesome! I love that you volunteer and I think it's great that you sometimes get your daughter and sometimes not.
Josh's school year is going very well so far. He love love LOVES his teacher and his classroom. I have to admit, I pretty much love her too, lol. Just visiting his classroom, you know that the "right" things are going on in there. She does a nice mixture of innovative stuff plus the traditional stuff that works. He seems to get along well with everyone, and he has a little girlfriend in class too. He still doesn't really seem like he has a "best friend" like Gino was to him in preschool. He has lots of buddies, but not a best friend. I'm ok with it-- I can remember in school we were allowed to pick our own seats, and the girls were all broken off into groups of 2 or 3, and the boys shoved their desks into one big group! Lol.

Can't wait to hear about everyone else.

That's great ladies!!

My kids are doing well. I LOVE their teachers and so do they. Enrolment is down this year and all 3 kids are in split classes. I don't really mind, except Emily is in grade 3 but her class is a 2/3 split. She's finds it really boring- always saying "I'm SOOOO bored, the work is SOOO easy". I'm assuming it's all review work right now and hopefully the lessons will be more challenging for her. She catches on so quickly. I think part of the reason she's in the 2/3 split, as opposed to the 3/4 split, is because of her personality. She's so quiet/shy. I told her the teachers must of placed her where she is so she could help the little kids.

Sharyn- ds Ryan (9) does not want anything to do with homework and always tries to take the easiest/quickest route to get it done. I cringe everytime he has homework...I just can't seem to get him motivated....

Sheri- Rachel has always been like that too. I was in heaven when we switched from private to public school because they got so much less homework!

You guys just started didn't you? If so then you're probably right about Emily still getting review work. I hope it gets more interesting for her soon! Funny that they have both 2/3 and 3/4 classes though!
