  • oh geez.

We have a new family that moved in around the corner from me(their backyard touches my backyard and there is one house inbetween ours on the corner of the street..)
they have 2 teenage kids who are babysitters.

In talking to them, I mentioned that I did need to find a babysitter for that casino night and their daughter offered to babysit. So I agreed.
I mean, she's a babysitter and her parents are 2 doors away if anything goes wrong! Good deal to me.

So the babysitter and her mom came to our house today to get aquainted with the kids and to go over the details etc.
They came over at 3pm and Sarah had not had her 2nd dose of medication yet. (well, actually I just gave it to her but it hadn't kicked in yet)

so the kids were 100% wild. Yelling, and jumping and tearing the cushions off the couch and jumping on them etc.
I had to tell them that Sarah was on medication for ADHD and that in the evening, the medication wore off but that she should still be fine.

I think the teenager was naievly okay with it but the mother looked petrified to have her daughter managing such children!
I told them that they were just showing off because you were new and that on Saturday as soon as I left, they'd calm down and be very manageable.

In the mean time, I think I should line up a backup babysitter incase this one chickens out at the last minute

  • I had to laugh Karen because my children go through spurts like that when someone new comes around too especially if it's another child (teenager whatever).

Hopefully the mother will relax about it and let her sit for you.

  • Isn't that always the way? The minute you need your kids to be on their best behavior they go bizerk! I hope she doesn't back out.

My kids can be SHOW OFFS to other kids/young adults as well.
