I caved and let Rachel have a Facebook. I figured its better if she is on something I know about since its so easy to find other places like Google+ that aren't as private.

So...anythign I should know or do? I've seen stuff about Facebook monitoring programs...anybody use them?

Rachel just turned 13
What is funny is she was trying to put in the wrong birthdate so she was 16 instead . Well she got it backwards so it showed she was even younger than 13 and now it won't let her change her birthdate again.

You have to make them 18 for them to have an account, dont you? My friend's son just got one for the first time and I thought that's what she said.

I just really think that you should always have her password, and I'm sure you've talked with her about what's f/b appropriate and what isn't. Just make sure she understands that anything she puts out there can be read by anyone, and make sure her password isnt something someone else could guess. My friends niece had her password figured out, and some catty girls hacked her account and changed her password and started making it look like she was saying HORRIBLE things about other people, her dance teacher, and her friends.
I also think you should get a f/b even if you don't use your real name so you can monitor her (ok and maybe friend me too, lol!)

No, they have to be over 13. When Rachel put in the wrong year it had a box to check saying yes she is over 13.

I did make Rachel friend me and my sister is on there too so we can monitor it somewhat. She had signed herself up for a Google + account without my knowing and I've watched her posts on there. So far there hasn't been anything I need to worry about.

I do have f/b now. I'll PM you. I still like this forum better than f/b but its ok.
