Default Math homework is killer in 4th Grade

at least it is for Brent with Dr. Harden. Maybe he was right to have been fearful of this teacher. He has 4 pages every night since school started including weekends. He has been given pop quizes on the 2nd day and yes they were for a grade. He has to study all multiplications for a test this Friday and on top of that he has classwork that is really confusing and complicated that he is supposed to finish at home but we have no instructions on how to do it. UGH...

I emailed Dr. Harden last night to ask some questions. He has not responded to me yet but I'm sure he will. Brent is extremely anxious and fearful of this man.

Ugh he sounds like a hard teacher! I hope it gets easier for Brent soon.

He emailed me back and has it all sorted out with Brent. At least I know he's willing to talk and work on issues.

Mrs. Roden,
I talked with Brent and found that he had brought home the Mountain Math worksheet.
This is strictly a classwork project that they need the board in my room to complete.
This is not homework. I think I was able to straighten him out and reduce some of his
nervousness.
Please feel free to contact me if there are ever any other issues.

I'm glad he responded and explained things to both you and Brent!
