Default Ohhhh Parker is mad at me!

I got him all ready to go for a walk with the wagon and it started to rain. I told him he had to hold the umbrella if he wanted to go in the rain. He would have no part of that. I kept trying to reason with him but he would not hold it. Now he is sitting in the wagon by the door crying. I feel bad but he is so mad. I tryed to get him out of it but he won't let me.

I guess that's how they learn to compromise. I hope the rain stops soon so you can go out for your walk.

We've been thru that too.
Andrew screamed and screamed one day when we were at a fast food restaurant because I broke his chicken finger in 1/2 to cool. Once it was broken, it was no good to him
He shrieked for 10 minutes at the mall wednesday because I bought him a subway sandwich and it wasn't nuggets. I finally went to eat the sandwich and asked him .. after I took a bite, .. if he wanted a bite too and he said yes. He took one bite and then decided it was good and proceeded to eat the rest of the sandwich after the 10 minutes of the crying tantrum echoing in the middle of the mall.
That's his way of 'getting what he wants' and when I've had enough of it, I get really angry and yell back at him about how I don't like him crying to get his way all the time and how I'm the mommy and we do what *I* want to do, not what *HE* wants to do and on and on. Then he's an angel for a couple days and then he creaps back to the monster crying fit boy that I just won't stand for.

I let Andrew cry for as long as he wants in situations like that. Sometimes I tell him to go cry in his room if he still wants to cry because we dont' want to hear it. Once he realizes he'll have to go to his room and his crying isn't working, he stops.
Nice manipulations I have to deal with.

It sounds like Parker is getting in on that little method too
But you're right to stand your ground.

Poor thing. I understand why he is upset, but he has to obey what you say.

My oldest 2 have done that more times than I can count. I am like Karen though, and after about 5 min of crying, I tell them they can continue, but to go to their rooms, because I dont' want to hear it. They usually stop pretty quick.

Hopefully you can take a walk another day.
