What sort of things do you put in the treat bags at your kids birthday parties?

What do you like your kids to get?

What don't you like them getting?

We are having a hockey themed birthday party, but I have no idea what to give as party treats... Nothing like leaving things till the last minute!

I gave....
whistles that looked like soccer/football/baseballs.
those lizards/chamelons that are sort of rubbery-- little boys love those
the thingees you blow and they unroll
balls that have suction cups on them
stickers
lollipops
playdough

I got almost everything at Target in the party favor section.

Mostly what we get in party bags is junk toys. I'm ok with that though! Josh enjoys them, they break, and we throw them away.

one of my favorite goody bags was crayons and a coloring book/pages, the kids loved them. We get them at family dollar 2 for $1.
I hate playdough and anyathing like it that can make a mess. thoose types of things are special treats for my kids to play with, when I give them to them.

I have done the party favor bags with the junk toys and candy and I have done cooler stuff as well -- it all ends up costing a bundle, even from the dollar store...

My favorite was water cooler bottles with passes to the party place inside and a balloon tied around the top.

If you have a skating rink in town, I bet you could buy passes cheaply for open skate -- put in on cute hockey themed paper and give it with a lollypop/sucker and balloon.

I'm turning into a grouch about party bags and I have pitched 1/2 the stuff before it comes home.

I do like stickers though!

Cool

I go for anything that is not candy. I like to go with the theme.

Ashley's was Nemo this year - I found water bottles (girls - clown fish, boys, sharks - they are bobble heads), clown fish bubble stuff, and goldfish crackers. Put them all in cello bags.

See photos.
