Question Plantars Warts

Douglas has some plantars warts on his feet. 2 of them are HUGE, and the other 4 are a lot smaller. (Yes, there are 6 of them already.) We took him to the Dr once and they gave us this cream stuff to use at night, but the bandaids that are supposed to go over them don't stay on (I've tried everything short of puting tape AROUND his feet!)

The Dr said they CAN freeze the warts off, but that it'snot recommended because of where they are or something and that it would be more pain than it's worth (which is why he gave us the cream that can ONLY go on the wart, not on the skin around it and it's a big hassel to deal with anyway for something that IS NOT WORKING!!!)

SO, I've been reading and found that if you paint over the area with nail polish it's supposed to deprive the nasty things of oxygen and they will fall off (GROSS!), but my question is, how will the polish stay on? Won't it just peel off?

SOOOO, I'm thinking about taking him in once more to just get the things frozen off so we can be done with them... BUT I don't know f I should try to get him in before we go camping and to a water park in a week and a half, or if we should wait until AFTER the trip to do it. Someone told me he should be able to do normal activities, it'll just be sore for a couple days... But then what constitues "normal activity" as far as water parks and that knd of stuff go?

What would you do? I'm confused!!!

I had them as a kid-- around 10 years old, and I actually had to have a minor surgery to have them cut out, and then the area cauterized.
They were too big to freeze.

I would probably get them frozen off when you get back if the other methods aren't successful.

I agree I would wait til afterwords. You don't want him to be in pain when you go. a year and half ago I had them surgically removed that was a lot of pain. The freezing and all that didn't work for me

This is going to sound so strange so be prepared.

I had them as a child and my grandmother told me an old wives' tale.

She said to cut a potato in half and rub the raw potato on the warts and allow it to dry. Do this several times a day (I imagine you could use the same potato and just cut a fresh part so you have a fresh cut each time) and then bury the potato in the yard.

I did the potato-rubbing part but not the burying part...I didn't understand what the burying part would do. Low and behold, a week later, the wart was G.O.N.E!!!

So while it might sound crazy (I admit that it sounds totally nutty), it totally worked for me.

Do with that whatever you like.

I can add to the strange stories about magically disappearing plantars warts! lol

I had 2 on the bottom of my foot that I tried some over the counter stuff and they did not go away. I was going on vacation in a few weeks and decided to see a doctor when I got back. I went to a tanning salon several times over those weeks before my trip and low and behold, something in the tanning booth process made them disappear! lol Dried them out I guess!
