that's awesome!
I am told that reading is mostly memorization anyway. We mentally understand that certain letters have certain sounds, but honestly, we have the words memorized. Because if you think about it, sounding it out doesn't work for a whole heck of alot of words! I mean - it's super hard when there are multiple sounds for multiple letters and the 'rules' have excpetions to them

Sarah's kindergarten class expects the kids to be reading simple books and writing in journals already.
they have a list of 100 words that they should all know by now
So it sounds like Seth is right on track if not a smidge ahead!
They sure do make the kids learn this stuff early these days
