Default Seth is repeating Kindergarten
Unless there is a drastic change in him...which probably won't happen, unless ADD drugs are miracle drugs. Not that he is going to be on them, but I bet he will end up that route.

So it is fine, but I hate that he will be doing stuff that he doesn't need to do...like learn the alphabet and numbers. I hope that he will be allowed to have library time or that the teacher will make a science/nature program for him to work on. He doesn't get science in his CCK room now because of all the special needs the teacher has to address.

His basic reason for repeating is for social interaction issues, and for attention difficulties. I guess his teacher is really counting on him getting medicated!

Also, she mentioned that she thought he had Aspergers Syndrome. Interesting!

So are you electing to hold him back or is she? What do you think repeating Kindergarten will do for him socially? I'm assuming with age and being in the classroom another year it will help him but I'm not sure if that is the reason.

This is so hard I'm sure. I'm definitely feeling your pain just thinking ADD for Brent.

We are both electing to do so. She asked me my thoughts and I told her that I felt he needed it, but I also told her my concerns about science and him being bored with the abc's. His social stuff is more in the participation field...won't participate in group instruction, that type stuff.
