Still believes in Santa & the tooth fairy Ages & Stages

I tried to tell Leanna that I am the tooth fairy and she wouldn't believe me! 1/2 the time I even forget to leave money and she still didn't believe me! I was trying to get her talking about Santa so I could fess up because I expect the kids in school to be talking about it but she really truly believes in Santa. Ugh she is going to be devastated when she finds out the truth...

What made you decide to tell her? Im thinking im not spilling the beans until she catches on. Im hoping I dont need to have this discussion til shes at least 10! lol

I wanted to tell her the truth because I forget to be the tooth fairy so often and also she's in 5th grade and I'm sure most of the other kids don't believe any more. I can picture her getting into a big argument about Santa being real at school and ending up crying over it.

Rachel just sort of figured it out so it wasn't a big deal but Leanna just wants so much to believe in the magic of it.

A good friend of ours who also has 4 kids (all around our kid's ages) doesn't do Santa or the Easter bunny or any of that (I don't know about the tooth fairy). One day when we were over there, Douglas and their oldest were talking about Santa and of course Douglas ended up asking me if the guy in the mall is just a guy in a suit or if it was really Santa. We talked to him when we got home, but not the truth yet. He's only 6, he doesn't need to know yet

(Plus we don't want him telling his sisters!)

Brent is in 4th grade and still beleives. I really thought he didn't beleive was just pretending but something he said recently makes me thinks he does believe.
