Yeah, I've heard mixed reviews on adding the cereal, too. The ER doc suggested it last night (he was an idiot, but I thought it couldn't hurt to try it). I've been adding just a tablespoon per 6 ounce bottle since we've been home from the ER and he's drank every single bottle. I don't know if it's a coincidence or if it's actually helping, but at this point I'm going to keep going with it. We see the doc again on Tuesday, so I'll ask him then.

In the meantime, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we're on to something - or at least that he's just figured things out!

We add cereal to bottle per dr's orders to help with spit up and reflux. I was told to add 1 tablespoon per 2 ounces of formula. You have to make the hole in the nipple larger to accomodate this.

I usually make 6 oz so I put in 3 tbsp of cereal. Hope it helps

Mia takes a rice bottle befre bed. There are special nipples for this...It will not go thru a regualar one. If you find these nipples...they are leak proof and it only lets them get whatever they suck out. they are awesome. i usually make 7 oz. of milk and do 2. oz of cereal.
