Default 15-month "well check" later today

Later today Athemia has her 15 month well check. Unfortunately, I don't think "well" is the word for it! She's had goopy eyes since Friday night, runny nose since Sat, yesterday after her nap she had a temp of 100.1, took 2 doses of Tylenol to get it to drop. She then woke at 5:00 this morning with a temp of 100.8, Tylenol helped that but it took her over an hour to get back to sleep (she stayed in bed with me). Last night she was breathing kinda heavy when she went to bed, but that got better. This morning I gave her some Motrin since it's stronger and lsts longer (and bc we're almost out of Tylenol!) Her app is at 3:30 and that's when the Motrin is due to wear off, so we'll see what happens.

Of course today her eyes aren't so yucky, just red around the lids and the Motrin is helping her fever

Should be interesting to see what they say.

Other thing I have to remember to ask about is her leg, which is NOT straightening out. I'm supposed to go back to the specialist in about 6 months, but I'm almost positive her leg has gotten worse instead of better, and it looks it's worst when she is stepping on that side. I am going to try and get in sooner with the specialist to get this taken care of sooner rather than later, in hopes she doesn't remember having to go through all this mess!

Oh, and the best part is she is not acting sick at all! No loss of appetite and she is playing just as much as always!

I find that is always the way, they are so sick till the day of the appt, and then they are good, and then right after you get home, they get worse again.

Hope you will update us on how the appt went!

Sorry, should have updated last night!

Athemia has pink eye in both eyes and has to have drops put in 3 times a day! (Any advice on how to make this easier is GREATLY appreciated! This morning I had Douglas and Sienna help me hold onto her arms!) She also has some kind of "icky" that's going around (it was a student nurse that said this!) so that's where the fever and runny nose come into play.

Other than that, she's doing great developmentally. She will be getting 3 shots at her next app at 18 months, none yesterday! (We had the option of doing 2 yesterday and one at her 18 month check, but opted to get it all over with at once.)

As for her bowed leg, we got an appointment for Dec 16th instead of next August like they originally said. I just want to get everything fixed sooner rather than later so she can quit falling down so much! (It's almost always on that side.)

I had to sit on my kids to do it.

Well, kneel over them actually so I had 2 hands free.

I wanted to say get them in to the doc asap when they have goopy eyes because its VERY contagous and the whole family can catch it before you know it.

Hope the rest of you stay healthy!
