Default 4 month check up

Ava had her 4 month check up this afternoon. She now weighs 12 pounds 13 ounces and is 25 inches long. She is getting so big! The doctor was just amazed how much progress she is making. She rolled Ava on her belly to listen to her back, and Ava got up on all 4's and started rocking back and forth! The doctor couldn't believe it! She said that I could go ahead and start her on some cereal, that she seems ready for it. She also told me to get some mineral oil for her cradle cap that wont go away; so we will give that a try. She also said she has some build up of ear wax in the left ear and wants to put some perxoide in it and get it cleaned up. I try to clean her ears, but she just wont hold still long enough.

So, we are so glad she is making progress. She has discovered how to blow raspberries, and she will not sit still anymore. She has to be standing so she can jump around, or she gets mad. I have to keep her stimulated all the time as well because she gets bored easily. She is very active and we are very blessed to have a healthy baby who isn't showing any signs of Autism yet. It will be a while before we know for sure if she will get it as well, but Lexy was not doing anything like this at 4 months. So we will continue to keep our fingers crossed. We can't wait to get our tax refund so we can get her a jumper as well. Hope all is well with everyone else!!!

Way to grow Ava! Sounds like a wonderful appointment!

Just to warn you, our Dr told us baby oil for Athemia's cradle cap and I had to wash her hair 3 times before all the oil would come out! (She does have quite a bit of hair up top though.)

Ava sounds like she is doing great! Not sure if this will work with her, but I clean Kendall's ears right after each bath. The moisture/heat seems to help the wax soften and I sit her on my lap (wrapped in her towel), facing out, and use a Qtip very gently. She seems to like it, b/c she will stop moving so much when I do it. Now her nose on the other hand....she HATES when I clean that out!
