Thumbs up Encouraging

For an update. Doug is still on the vent. He was awake both afternoon and evening vist although very groggy at evening because they had to put a central line in his chest for meds and labs. He signed to us at the afternoon visit and remebered it at the evening visit. Bless everybody for your prayers.
Morning visit went well, Doug had a better night. He was groggy but woke little. So good signs.

I am so sorry you are going through all of this - I have been off for a few days with work and everything and was heartbroken reading all of your posts. I am glad you have such a good support system and I pray that Doug continues to improve

OMG!!! I can't believe all I have been reading!

I will put you in my prayers. If we were closer, I'd babysit or whatever to help! What a huge scare! I hope he is healing very quickly!

We talked to the Dr. tonight(what a wonderful man). He said Doug has diabetes but that is not what caused the stroke. He popped his neck to get a crick in it and the symptoms began almost right away. DO NOT POP YOUR NECK EVER!!!! He has a lot of damage to the cerebellum but says Doug his holding steady and shows signs a good, complete recovery over time. We still have a long way to go. First step is to get him off the vent and out ICU. We are expecting about five days now for all that. Pray we aren't disappointed. Again thank you all for your love and support.
