Does anyone have anything exciting planned for fall? Pumpkin patches? Festivals? Anything? Do tell do tell.

Living right smack dab in the Appalachian Mountains, I love this time of year... it is BEAUTIFUL here!

We plan to go to a pumpkin patch sometime in October where they have a corn maze, hay rides, funnel cakes, hot chocolate, all kinds of fun stuff!!!

We will probably try to hit up Dollywood once the leaves start changing colors because it is so much fun to go down at this time of year and they have WONDERFUL food!

We have an annual trip to a pumpkin farm here. Ours has a lot of the same things yours has, as well as pony rides, petting zoo, dried corn boxes and a giant bouncy thing.

My neighborhood puts on a Halloween parade with a fire truck and refreshments on the Saturday before Halloween. It'll actually be on Halloween this year, since it falls on a Saturday. And then trick-or-treating!!!

Halloween is not the huge deal as it is in the states even though it originated here in Ireland..we do the dressing up and trick or treating but its only in recent years where houses are decorated but it is a growing industry LOL

we will dress up Lucy on the day and bring her to visit her g-parents and other family members..she is too young to trick or treat..I might pick up some decorations but they are very very expensive.

I never knew the tradition originated in Ireland! Very cool to know that now, Therese! Thanks!

We picked up a couple of pumpkins this year at a friends house. They grew a WHOLE BUNCH of them and are selling them and said we could have some. We only picked to bc my MIL didn't go with, but we plan to go back and get a couple more later on.

We also went to MN to get a few gourds and a bunch of apples. (La Crescent, MN is like the apple capitol or something... they have apple fest every year and everything. We live about 10 minutes away so we go there every fall for TONS of apples... they have great deals this time of year!) We will go back for more apples again after the ones we have now are gone so we can make apple sauce and other apple stuff!

Last year we found a pumpkin patch and went and hada lot of fun, so we might go do that this year too if we can find the time!

Also, this time of year around here is Oktoberfest, so tomorrow there is a HUGE LONG parade that lasts a few hours. We'll probably go for a littlw while so the kids can watch the parade (we'll walk, since it's about a block away from our house

) People have been out there already since EARLY this morning, even though they aren't supposed to be out there until after midnight tonight! And the police don't enforce it (even though they say they will every year!) But there is also another parade this upcoming Thursday that we will go to. The Torchlight parade, it's at night and everything is lit up! I'm sure at some point we'll go for the rides too. It's a huge thing!

Then T-or-Ting too. We all dress up, this year probably as the Simpson's
