Default getting closer to a big boy bed

Preston is still in his crib and we are all very happy with that arrangement.

BUT, yesterday he learned how to climb INTO the crib. So now he climbs in, and yells "mommy" for me to come get him back out. It is a bit annoying but I am very grateful that he hasn't started climbing out.

So for now he'll stay in the crib ... but I bet it won't be for too much longer.

I have the tent on Lu's crib since he's been climbing out (and in) for the last 7-8 months. I'm finally going to move Marek into a twin, though, so we may start trying to get Lu to sleep without the tent so we can transition him into the toddler bed. Lukas is so long (38" now) and sleeps stretched out that we will probably have to move him into a twin before long.

So why are you resisting putting him in a todler bed? I'm not sure I understand your post.

For us it's easier to keep him in his crib - he's happy, safe and confined to his bed. I don't want to fight with him to get him to stay in his big boy bed for naptime so that's why he's staying in his crib.

Yea, Kendall is staying her crib too. While on vacation, she learned & did climb out of the crib she was sleeping in, but they don't have it on the lowest setting like we do at home. We will probably try sometime before the end of the year, especially if she gets the hang of the potty training & will need to get out of the bed on her own. Although that would bring on a whole other adventure since I don't want her trying to go by herself & walking around the house or hurting herself in the bathroom.
