Default How was everyone's Mother's Day?

Since it was my first, it was sooo special. DH and DD made it so wonderful and so did my in-laws. DH made breakfast, bought me a beautiful family collage frame and a Starbuck's card, and amazing cards. MIL bought me a mommy charm bracelet and SIL bought me a frame that says "we try and teach our children about life, but our children teach us what life is all about". Of course I CRIED over all of it. DH also went and brought Olive Garden in so I could have my favorite cheesy pasta that I wasn't able to have while I was still pumping. And, MIL brought an ice cream cake (yumm!). It was a very special day for me- something I have dreamed about for a long time. DH and DD made it so special! I will post a few pics when I can.

How was everyone elses???

We had a very nice day. This is my second mother's day and it was such fun to watch Joseph run and play all day.
We actully spent the morning saving some baby hummingbirds. Their nest was in one of the windchimes on the front porch and Saturday night something attacked it. It was hanging by a thread(literally).

One of the babies was hangin on by one foot trying to keep itself in the nest and the other was being kept in by his sibling. We dislodged the nest and put it a small container and reattached the container to the windchimes. We called a rehaber and she said that since we'd seen the mama that we should make sure she feeds them and if not then she'd come out and rescue them. But the mama did come back and feed them!!

After that we went out to eat and I got some great cards and some gift cards.

I think though that this will be a memorable Mother's day because I helped save another mama's babies.

Sounds really nice.

Mine was great, too. We were in Indianapolis because my husband had run the Indy Mini Marathon on Saturday. We'd stayed Saturday night at a Holiday Inn with an indoor water park. Because of a mix-up with the room, I talked the desk manager into giving us two adjoining rooms so we tucked the kids into the one room and we stayed in the other.

In the morning, when the girls woke up early, DH sent me to the their room to sleep while Alex slept. He kept the girls quiet in our room and let me sleep until, wait for it...wait for it...10:30!!!

That was a gift enough in itself.

We checked out and went to lunch at O'Charley's (I

that bread) and then headed back to the hotel to swim in the water park until about 3:30. Andy gave me a nice card and tucked inside was a gift card to Dream Dinners! I've always wanted to try it but couldn't ever bring myself to spend that much. So I'm excited to give it a whirl!!

I was getting a major migraine and DH was too tired to drive so I drove the rest of the way home. I relaxed when we got home while DH unpacked.

Even with a raging headache, it was still a great day.

I actually got to go to church! First Mothers Day in years that I've been able to go because of having sick kids that I had to take care of while DH went to help give a break to the other mommies at church. They gave us each a cd with inspirational hymns on it. I haven't had time to listen to it yet though!

The girls came home with all sorts of little presents which was very cute and sweet! This is the first yr that they've ever made me anything as my DH would never in a million years think to help them out with something like that.

As my DH isn't good with holidays and my best friends DH isn't any better and her parents and inlaws are all traveling out of state (so were my inlaws), we decided to have a BBQ at my house! My DH was thrilled to have a job of cooking meat and we had a great time! It was the best mothers day in years and years because we planned it ourselves vs. trying to get our DH's to remember and come up with something

That sounds amazing Heidi! I'm so glad your first Mother's Day was so special. Mine was pretty good. It was a little better than I expected (around here holidays have turned into days that aren't unlike any other day). DH had to work though, but DS gave me a card that he had made himself. When DH got off work he and DS gave me a nice card, an orchid, a raft for the pool (which I have been wanting and haven't bought yet, so I though that was thoughtful), and some white chocolates. DH also planned and cooked dinner for all of us and we sat down together and had dinner. (which we don't do too often). It was a good day!
