This reminds me so much of our son. We were having trouble with Joe when he was little. It was a behavioral thing. We did the pediatrician, and she sent us to a child psychologist who trained us on how to cope with Joe's outbursts. It sounds like your little guy may have a behavioral issue if he is great for everyone else.

Our psychologist recommended the 1, 2, 3 Magic book/video and it was a miracle!!!!! It's probably at your library!

I can't tell you how much this helped both me and my husband get on the same page with how we handled Joe and it changed our home and the atmosphere immediately!

Good Luck -- you aren't alone!!

I'm sorry your having such a rough time!!! (My little guy is pretty challenging for us as well so I know how exhausting each day can be!)

I would try different approaches to his behavior since he only acts this way with you and your dh. If you need to do dishes, tell him that you are going to do the dishes and give him two choices of things he can do by himself. Let him choose what to do and then go do your dishes. If he comes and starts screaming by your side, tell him calmly that you have to do the dishes and you will play with him again when you are done and ignore him. It will be HARD for a while and he'll probably throw some big tantrums. Just stay strong and he'll learn that his tantrums are a waste of time when you have to get something done around the house. GOOD LUCK!!!
