Default Our 1st week

Silly me - this was posted in the due dates board 2 days ago - I was tired and didn't realize where I put it. If you already read this, I appologize.

So, we have all had our first week of our new routine. Kaitlyn is doing just fine with bottles - I send her with 2 4 oz. EBM and she drinks them. I think she isn't drinking enough, but she is also doing food throughout the day. We will start to try some formula mixed in and see how it goes.

We go to the ped on wednesday for the 6 month check and I will be discussing with him. I know they tried straight formula once and she refused. I was going to ask how soon I can do regular milk (I know that my mom and DH's mom did it at 6 months and now the norm is 1 year. My nephew did it @ 10 months). I am more curious what our best solution is if we refuse the formula all together - juice?water? milk? I just want to do what is best for Kailtyn - I realize that starting milk too early could be a problem for digestion and allergies. But is she better off starting early than no milk/formula. Who knows - I will keep you posted.

I have a full load and being back is hard - don't know how I am going to keep up on all the house stuff as well as teaching stuff - they doubled my course load from 3 grade levels to 6 - ugh! (I teach computers)

Six preps is totally harsh!! That is against our contract! do you have a union that can help you out?

Molly is only taking 2-4 ounces of milk daily at daycare plus 1-2 ounces mixed in cereal. Let me know what your ped. says about it.

I saw your tag line by your avatar -- I'm exhausted, too!

We can do this!!!

Let me clarify with the job - we have a 9 period day - I teach 6 classes, have a prep and a lunch - it is not against our contract. What is new is that I only taught 6th, 7th, and 8th before - now I have 3rd, 4th, and 5th as well. Just a lot to prepare for. To boot, the "classroom" teachers got a renegotiated contract to have 7 preps a week - specialists like myself only get 5 - nothing I can do about it either.

As for the EBM thing, he said she would get what she needs and won't starve - he told me to try the formulas for older kids - he says they taste better and at 6 months she is old enough. Hugs to you to Sarah and Deanna!
