  • Preston had his early intervention evaluation recently. He's doing amazing overall. He is listed at 12 months for a lot of the categories.

His gross motor skills are lacking (which was the reason for the evaluation) so a physical therapist will come out once a month to teach me things I can do to help him strenghten his muscles and encourage him to crawl, etc. His first visit is on Tuesday next week so I'm excited for that to start.

The physical therapist that was doing the evaluation mentioned that he does have low muscle tone, but it isn't significantly low. That made me feel lots better. You can't change the tone of your muscle, he will always have low muscle tone, but by the time he's around 5 it's not something anyone will ever know. She also said that he will crawl and walk without any intervention, he just has to work a bit harder at it so it will take a bit more time. So the once a month phsycial therapy isn't necessary, but I wanted to go ahead and do it anyway.

So overall it was a great visit and he's doing awesome.
