Default Postponing Alex's party

It looks like Joseph isn't the only little guy who has to wait for his birthday party. We got lots of snow last night so we're postponing the party to next Saturday.

As it turns out, Charlotte is running a 103+ fever and Alex feels warm, too, so it's probably a good thing that we're not having a load of kids around today.

Now I just have to figure out what to do with the half sheet cake I bought.

Think I can freeze it?

Hope your brood is better soon!

You can freeze a frosted cake as long as it doesn't contain whipped cream or cream cheese. Just put the frosted cake in the freezer until the icing hardens, then remove it and wrap it securely with plastic wrap and a layer of aluminum foil on top of that. To thaw, take it out of the fridge, unwrap it, and let it sit at room temperature for a couple of hours.

I hope they are better soon and your snow stops! I'm glad you can freeze the cake. It would be like freezing your wedding cake topper. We had such a huge cake that we froze 2. We ate one at our 1 month anniversary and it was fabulous! The one at 1 yr was awful!!!

Thanks, ladies. We're considering just donating the cake to a local shelter. We're getting it from Sam's Club so it's only $20. With weather like this and the economy the way it is, I'm sure they could feed a lot of folks with it.

And for the record, Alex's temp was 101.1 a little bit ago so it's probably best that we rescheduled.
