Lyla goes 2xs a week- Tues/Thurs..... she LOVES it....

if i wasnt working I'd likely not send her yet-- but since i am working I needed the structure with her. I would have jsut organized play groups if I wasnt working...

I do think it helps- the socialization, crafts, singing, music, etc--

Lukas won't start until next year. He'll go to the same church preschool in our neighborhood where Marek attends now (since he's a September birthday, Marek is just starting preschool and goes TTh from 9:00 to 11:30). Next year, Louie will go TTh and Marek will go MWF.

Kendall goes to daycare 2x a week as well and around here I think preschool & daycare are 2 different things. (I could be wrong, but I think so)

I do think it has helped her pick up some skills a little faster, like when she was learning to eat with a spoon. When she moved up to the 2 year class, they are no longer allowed to use sippy cups. We still use them at home the majority of the time, but I am allowing her small amounts in a cup if she sits on the kitchen or the wood floor. (or at her highchair) They also assist with potty training, but we have yet to see the benefits of it at home. They tell me she goes for them at daycare, but she won't go for us or my parents.

I also like the fact that she is interacting with other kids her age, learning how to behave in a classroom setting, gets outdoor play 2x a day, singing, crafts, etc. She also learns to deal with other adults & listening to them, which I think will help when she later does go to school.

No school here yet. Preston probably won't go until he's 4. We do lots of other things like a music playtime once a week with tons of other kids, and a weekly playgroup. He also goes to a nursery on Sunday's for two hours for church and that is another social environment for him.
