  • Ranch & Dill Nuts & Bolts

    2 cups mixed nuts
    1 cup peanuts
    3 cups Crispix or Chex
    1 cup Cheerios
    2 cups pretzels, I prefer the sticks
    3 cups Bugles

    Put all ingredients in brown paper bag, Add, 1/4 cup cooking oil. Shake. Add 1 pkg. Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Mix Powder and 2Tbsp Dill Weed. Shake.

    Must be kept in fridge or freezer, cuz oil is not cooked... super yummy

  • Apple Bars

    1 3/4 cup oats
    1/4 tsp soda
    1 1/2 cups flour
    1 cup brown sugar
    3/4 cup butter
    1/2 cup white sugar
    2 1/2 cups apples ( I usually use a bit more)
    3/4 tsp cinnamon
    2tbsps butter

    Mix first five ingredients. Divide mixture in half. Put one layer on bottom of 8x8 pan. Layer of apples, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Cover with rest of mixture. Bake at 375 Degrees for 40-45 minutes. Serve with Vanilla Ice Cream!

  • Sweet and Sour Sauce

    1 cup water
    1 cup ketchup
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1/8 cup vinegar
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp pepper
    1/4 tsp grated ginger
    1 crushed garlic

    Gradually dilute above mixture with more water if necessary. Use with meatballs or chicken wings, dipped in flour and deep fried. Simmer meat 15-20 minutes in sauce before serving...

  • Old Fashioned Waffles

    2 cups all purpose flour
    4tsps baking powders
    1 tsp salt
    1tbsp sugar
    2 cups milk
    2 eggs seperated
    2tbsps butter or margarine melted

    In a small bowl beat eggwhites till stiff but not dry. Set aside in medium bowl beat egg yolks until thick and creamy. Continue beating adding milk. MIx dry ingredients together and gradually add milk and egg mixture:beat until smooth. Fold in egg whites and melted butter. Cook in waffle maker! Approximately 3 minutes per waffle.....

  • Banana Bread- Martha Stewart...

    1 stick butter
    1 cup sugar
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 tsp baking soda
    1 tsp salt
    1 cup mashed very ripe bananas (I used 4 ripe bananas)
    1/2 cup sour cream (*I substitute cream cheese)
    1 tsp vanilla
    1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

    Preheat the oven to 350. Butter a 9x5x3" loaf pan or several smaller pans.
    With an electric mixer, ream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, beating well.
    Sift the dry ingredients together and combine with the butter mixture. Blend well. Add the bananas, sour cream, and vanilla. Stir well. Stir in the nuts and pour into the prepared pan.
    Bake 1 hour, until a cake tester comes out clean. Turn out onto a rack to cool.
